Faculty Club

The BioTechMed-Graz Faculty Club offers a platform for interdisciplinary exchange and networking to all full and associated members of BioTechMed-Graz with "BioTechMed-Graz Flagship Lectures" and "Open Evenings". The Faculty Club takes place on the third Wednesday of every month at 5.00 p.m. at the Graz University of Technology, Stremayrgasse 16.

BioTechMed-Graz offers childcare for the Flagship Lectures from 4:30 to 8:00 p.m. in the Rooftop Mensa. If you require childcare, please register in good time.

The next BioTechMed-Graz Faculty Club - Flagship Lecture will take place on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at 5:00 at the Graz University of Technology, Stremayrgasse 16, Lecture hall BMT.

Kari Alitalo from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Helsinki & Director of the Wihuri Research Institute, will give a lecture on ‘Translational insights into endothelial growth factors’:

Vascular endothelial growth factors (VEGFs) are involved in orchestrating the development, maintenance and regeneration of the blood and lymphatic vessels. However, despite significant progress in mechanistic understanding of the function of VEGFs in various human disease processes, there has been limited translation of this knowledge to disease therapeutics. In my talk, I will review some of our attempts to make headway towards better understanding and proof-of-principle clinical translation of the VEGFs.

An Open Evening took place on September 18, 2024 as part of the BioTechMed-Graz Faculty Club. This offers a plattform for interdisciplinary and networking to all full and associated members of BioTechMed-Graz.

On May 22, 2024 Maria Mittelbrunn (PhD from Centro de Biologia Molecular Severo Ochoa, Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Cientificas, Madrid, Spain) gave the Flagship Lecture "Immuno cells at the crossroad between inflammation and aging" (Digest - German only).

An Open Evening took place on April 17, 2024 as part of the BioTechMed-Graz Faculty Club. This offers a plattform for interdisciplinary and networking to all full and associated members of BioTechMed-Graz.

On March 20, 2024 Tim Clausen (IMP) gave the Flagship Lecture "BacPROTACs - antibiotics of the future?" (Digest - German only).

The first Open Evening of this year took place on 21 February 2024 as part of the BioTechMed-Graz Faculty Club. This offers a plattform for interdisciplinary and networking to all full and associated members of BioTechMed-Graz.
