BioTechMed-Graz Membership


Full members of BioTechMed-Graz:

The following employees of the three BioTechMed-Graz partner universities can apply as full members of BioTechMed-Graz:

  • University professors.
  • Employees with tenure track positions (assistant professor and associate professors).
  • Other scientific employees at postdoctoral level with a permanent employment contract. If they have a non-permanent position they need to have an employment contract with one of the three partner universities that ends after January 1, 2025.

Additionally, the following criteria have to be fulfilled:

  1. Own working group financed by external, competitive research funding (FWF, FFG, national bank, EU) within the last 7 years in one of the BioTechMed-Graz research areas.
  2. Significant publications in internationally visible research journals (e.g. top 30% of the JCR list, if applicable).

  3. At least one collaborative publication with a partner group from another BioTechMed-Graz partner university within the last 7 years.

Rights of full members:

  • Full members can apply for BioTechMed-Graz funds that are granted on a competitive basis.
  • are involved in the implementation and organization of BioTechMed-Graz.
  • have the right to attend and vote at the annual general meeting of BioTechMed-Graz.
  • have access to all BioTechMed-Graz events.
  • have access to documents in the full member section of the website.

Duties of full members:

  • Are expected to actively participate at BioTechMed-Graz events, doctoral programs, etc.
  • Must disclose and use the Unique Author Identifier „Open Researcher and Contributor ID“ (ORCID, www.orcid.org) ) for unambiguous identification.
  • Must use the BioTechMed-Graz affiliation and acknowledgment on publications (see details).
  • Must use the BioTechMed-Graz logo and name in the acknowledgement of presentations.
  • Must document successful project acquisitions in the universities‘ databases by ticking the BioTechMed-Graz button.
  • Should help to promote BioTechMed-Graz at all occasions (e.g. information of press departments about publications).


Associate members of BioTechMed-Graz:
Anyone who is involved or has an interest in BioTechMed-Graz (e.g. Ludwig Boltzmann Institutes, K-Centers, Christian Doppler Laboratories, administrative units of the universities etc.) and who would like to be informed about BioTechMed-Graz activities.
