Nobel Laureate Prof. Harald zur Hausen
On December 19, 2018 BioTechMed-Graz organized the inaugural "BioTechMed-Graz Nobel Lecture" with Nobel Laureate Prof. Harald zur Hausen. In his lecture, Prof. zur Hausen talked about "Prevention of Cancer: The Perspective of Novel Cancer-Linked Infections”.
Prof. Harald zur Hausen has been awarded the Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine for the discovery of specific human papillomavirus types and their role in cervical cancer in 2008. His research made it possible to develop a vaccine against one of the most frequent forms of cancer in women.
With nearly 600 participants the first "BioTechMed-Graz Nobel Lecture" was a great success.
