"Lysosomes, Mitochondria, and Metabolic Adaptations in Cancer"

Abstract: My lab studies the reciprocal relationship between signaling and metabolism in mammalian cells. We are particularly interested in cellular adaptations to changing metabolic environments, which are critical for cancer cell survival and growth under the harsh conditions of solid tumors. In this talk, I will discuss our recent findings concerning endo-lysosomal acquisition of extracellular proteins as a non-canonical nutrient source and control of mitochondrial bioenergetics through oncogenic signaling and tumor acidosis.
